Daedalus D Day 70th

During the first week of June 2014, members of Lee Bees were pleased to assist the Lee Flying Association in holding the D Day Anniversary Event held at Lee Airfield with the preparation of our then flying site, the disused 17/35 runway, for the parking area for the visiting  Dakota aircraft. We were also tasked with the on site parking for visitors, film crew etc. on the 3 day period.

The event went exeptionally well with only the Weds morning mass departure delayed by weather. As well as the Dakota`s, many other types came to the event, including a P51 Mustang, Beech Staggerwing , AT 6 Harvard and also 2 Spitfires of the BBMF arrived before a display with the Lancaster on the Tuesday Evening.
